Metallica – ReLoad (Remastered) -tiedote
Metallica on ilmoittanut julkaisevansa uudelleen nelinkertaista platinaa myyneen seitsemännen studioalbuminsa ReLoadin lopullisen remasteroidun version. Julkaisu ilmestyy 26. kesäkuuta yhtyeen oman Blackened Recordingsin kautta.

Albumin on remasteroinut Reuben Cohen Lurssen Masteringilla Greg Fidelmanin valvonnassa. ReLoad (Remastered) julkaistaan useissa formaateissa, kuten 180 g 2LP, eksklusiivinen värillinen 140 g 2LP, CD, 3CD Expanded Edition sekä Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set.

ReLoad Remastered Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set on intohimolla ja perusteellisesti koottu dokumentti Metallican 1997–1998 -kaudesta. Se sisältää runsaasti eksklusiivista materiaalia, kuten aiemmin julkaisemattomia demoja, raakaversioita, live-esityksiä, radio- ja TV-esiintymisiä ja paljon muuta. Tämä kertapainoksena numeroitu boksi sisältää remasteroidun ReLoad-albumin 180 g tuplavinyylinä, “The Memory Remains” -seitsemäntuumaisen sekä Live at Ministry of Sound ’97 -kolmoisvinyylin (140 g), joka on taltioitu livenä.

Boksin 15 CD:tä sisältävät remasteroidun albumin lisäksi ennen julkaisemattomia riffi-, demo- ja raakaversiokokoelmia, B-puolia ja harvinaisuuksia sekä runsaasti live-materiaalia. Neljä DVD:tä tarjoavat kulissien takaista, studiosta ja lavoilta kuvattua materiaalia, radio- ja TV-esiintymisiä, yhtyeen pop-up-keikan Philadelphian CoreStates Complexin parkkipaikalla, vierailuja Souliin ja paljon muuta.

Mukana on myös muistoesineitä, kuten 13 Rorschach-testikortin pakka, 11x17 “Gimme Fuel” -juliste, tarra, Pushead-printti, 10 kpl plektroja (kitara/basso), sanoitusarkkeja, kolme laminoitua backstage-passia sekä 128-sivuinen deluxe-kirja, joka sisältää ennen näkemättömiä kuvia ja tarinoita mukana olleilta.

Julkaisun yhteydessä avataan myös #GetTheReLoadOut -fanicover-kilpailu. Viime vuonna tuhannet fanit lähettivät omia versioitaan Load-albumin kappaleista #GetTheLoadOut-kilpailuun. Nyt kilpailu palaa uudella kierroksella juhlistamaan ReLoad-uudelleenjulkaisua, ja mukana on uusi toinen kategoria: perinteisten musiikkicoverien lisäksi myös esiintyvät ja visuaaliset taiteilijat voivat osallistua. Kilpailussa nostetaan esiin yksi albumin kappale viikossa, ja lopuksi kaksi pääpalkinnon voittajaa saa Metallican signeeraaman ReLoad Remastered Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set -boksin.

Alun perin 18. marraskuuta 1997 julkaistu ReLoad oli Metallican kolmas peräkkäinen albumi, joka debytoi Billboard 200 -listan ykkösenä. Se vietti listalla lähes 80 viikkoa ja nousi ykköseksi kuudessa maassa sekä kymmenen parhaan joukkoon lähes tusinassa muussa. Vuosien 1995–1997 sessiot The Plant -studiolla Sausalitossa, Kaliforniassa, tuottivat sekä Load- että ReLoad-albumit ja veivät James Hetfieldin, Lars Ulrichin, Kirk Hammettin ja Jason Newstedin uusille luoville alueille, laajentaen Metallican soundillista identiteettiä.

ReLoadilla tämä tarkoitti rohkeita ratkaisuja, kuten hurdy-gurdyn ja viulun käyttöä synkässä “Low Man’s Lyric” -kappaleessa sekä Marianne Faithfullin aavemaista vierailua “The Memory Remains” -kappaleessa. Kuten edeltäjänsä Load (1996), myös ReLoad on kasvanut arvostuksessa vuosien varrella, ja sen kipinöivä avausraita “Fuel” sekä ajaton “The Memory Remains” ovat edelleen keskeisiä osia yhtyeen settilistoja käynnissä olevalla M72-maailmankiertueella.
